Android Application Developer

This is a ground floor startup opportunity reporting initially to the founders in California.

Job Summary:

Build and maintain applications for Android devices and integrate the applications with back-end services. Collaborative problem solving and excellent design skills as well as creativity and initiative are essential.

Responsibilities:

Translate specifications and/or wireframes into code.
Design and build high performance, reusable and reliable code.
Test and fix bugs.
Maintain code quality, organization and automation.
Update applications based on feedback, system and performance requirements.

Skills:

Kotlin, JavaScript, SQL.
Experience with Android SDK, different versions of Android and various screen sizes.
Familiarity with standard APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services including database and payment systems.
Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns and best practices.
Experience with offline storage, threading and performance tuning.
Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces such as “touch”Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.
Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines.
Proficiency in code versioning tools, such as Git.
Familiarity with continuous integration.
Proven track record developing and maintaining professional level Android apps.

Business Development Manager

Basement opportunity at nascent energy access startup in Silicon Valley. Compensation initially in stocks only. This position will initially report directly to the founders.

Qualifications and Job Description:

Business Dev. Experience in Asia, particularly in Southeast Asia preferred. Experience in other regions will be considered case by case.
Experience in business strategy, market identification, market penetration and bringing partners in target regions on board.
Prior contacts and relationships with reps, distys and business persons and entities in North America, Europe and/or Southeast Asia a big plus.
Bachelor's degree a plus, but optional.
Assume multiple roles including Business Development, Marketing and some Sales activities.
Suggest modifications, adjustments to products and business strategy, and secure new business opporgtunities.
Basic profit/loss, margin and revenue projection and analysis abilities required.
Travel required.
Geographically located in California or Southeast Asia.
